OK, I’ll play
Having not had much motivation (nor time) to blog lately, I thought a good prompt might get me going again. Russ, Shoo and Brad all posted their Top 20 most played artists, and I’m nothing if not derivative so I’ll do the same.
All my musicking is done via my iPod or iTunes. Occasionally, I’ll get the hankerin’ for a specific tune, but usually I listen on shuffle. Instead of most-played artists, I thought I’d list my iPod’s most-played tracks:
- “Sliver” — Nirvana
- “Magic Number” — De La Soul
- “There’s No Other Way” — Blur
- “James Brown Style” — the Lemonheads
- “Fuck and Run” — Liz Phair
- “Blackened” — Metallica
- “Tourette’s” — Nirvana
- “Debaser” — the Pixies
- “Kool Thing” — Sonic Youth
- “Bring the Noise” — Anthrax w/Public Enemy
- “Soul Craft” — Bad Brains
- “Look Good in Leather” — Cody ChesnuTT
- “The Meaning of the Name” — Gang Starr
- “Just a Thought” — Gnarls Barkley
- “The Message” — Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five
- “The Concept” — Teenage Fanclub
- “Vibes and Stuff” — A Tribe Called Quest
- “Revolutionary” — Backwards Day
- “Night of the Living Baseheads” — Public Enemy
- “Tin Cans & Twine” — Tortoise
Wow… Eighteen of those songs are from 1993 or earlier. I suppose that makes me curmudgeonly.
